The Blue Ocean Group astounds its clients – second executive talk in Düsseldorf “Digital clients encounter analogue sales”

Düsseldorf, 8. April 2011: The Blue Ocean Group, a consortium of seven service providers from the consultancy sector, invited its clients to an executive talk for the second time at the Hyatt Regency in Düsseldorf on 5 April. Under the motto “Digital clients encounter analogue sales”, decision-makers from business met to learn about the Blue Ocean Group’s innovative, cross-border thinking. The introduction by the international keynote speaker Edgar Geffroy – himself a member of the Blue Ocean Group since 2009 and the moderator for the evening – focused on sustained, forward-looking account management.

The speaker’s podium featured a distinguished cast. Apart from Dr Ulf Mainzer, member of the Management Board of ERGO Versicherungsgruppe AG, speakers included the CEO of Yello Strom GmbH, UliHuener, and Frank Rehmer, Innovation Manager at the Metro Group.

It soon became clear that all speakers, as company representatives, had the same message: in a digital world, it is no longer sufficient to centre activity only on the client. Edgar Geffroy summarised it as follows: “He must be inspired, even astounded, you’ve got to fetch him from wherever he is. ”The entire corporate philosophy must be focused on him. What does the client really want? What does he need? And most importantly: what does he not need?

Transparency is essential to building up trust. And today more than ever, trust is the most important element in a sustained client relationship. If clients trust a company and feel that their wishes are taken seriously, they will identify with the company and prefer it to its competitors. Clients must therefore be acquired and kept through trust, proximity and transparency - and this is particularly true in the digital world.

Following the “Social Media & Web 2.0 - the Revolution in Communication?" workshop in September 2010, the executive talk was the second event organised by the Blue Ocean Group, in which the services sector is addressed from innovative viewpoints. Further regular events are planned.
